AI consulting and audit for SMEs

Take back control of AI, with people who have run industrial programmes

Your teams are already using artificial intelligence, with or without your approval. The question is no longer whether to go ahead, but what you risk, what you can gain from it, and how to keep control of your working tools.

Head of vehicle engineering at Renault, the Logan project, purchasing for the Renault-Nissan alliance. Our experts have made technology decisions where mistakes are counted in years and millions, not in sprints.

How we work

Three services, and you can stop after each one

A diagnostic to decide, an audit to get the facts, custom projects to build. The amount is given to you in writing, as a fixed fee, before any commitment.

The quote for a project is drawn up free of charge from the plan produced by the audit, and you are free to carry it out without us. See the details of each service.

Who will carry out your audit

Four careers, from the factory to AI governance

These are not consultants who have read articles about AI. Two led industrial programmes at Renault, the third was a data scientist there, the fourth leads audits of how AI is used and brings that use into compliance. All apply the same rigour to your technology decisions.

Your questions

Ten questions business leaders ask, and our short answers

None of these questions is naive. They are exactly the ones that decide whether an AI project creates value or destroys trust.

How am I using AI today?

Much more than you think, and rarely where you imagine. The audit starts from actual use, not declared use.

What is AI, in concrete terms?

A statistical machine that produces the most probable continuation. Not a brain, not an oracle, not deterministic software.

What can it do for me?

Absorb repetitive, low-stakes work and speed up writing, analysis and sorting tasks. Not make decisions in your place.

What are my concerns and my risks?

Data leaks, dependency on a supplier, invisible errors, loss of in-house skills. All of them can be dealt with; none can be dealt with by ignoring the issue.

Will I be pushed aside, or replaced?

Your job does not disappear in one go. Some tasks do. The useful question is which ones, and over what time frame.

How do I keep control of my production tool?

By keeping ownership of the data, the code and the business rules, and by refusing architectures you cannot leave.

How do I manage it?

With a small number of indicators, a named owner, a regular review and use cases that are either approved or stopped.

How do I decide in an environment that changes every quarter?

By investing in what does not change: your data, your processes, your skills. Today's model is just an interchangeable part.

What changes lie ahead for my organisation?

Roles shifting towards checking and decision-making, and a new need for traceability of decisions.

How do I grow my company within my constraints?

By starting from your actual constraints: budget, headcount, regulation, technical debt. The opportunity analysis puts figures on things before you commit.

Our position

What we will not do

A firm is judged as much by what it turns down as by what it sells.

We do not resell other people's software

No reseller agreements, no commission on the tools we recommend. We develop software, but custom-made and for you: our recommendation has nothing to gain from selling you one more subscription.

We do not keep the keys

The code, data and documentation belong to you from day one. Reversibility is tested before the engagement ends, not promised in a contract.

We do not replace your teams

A successful engagement ends when your teams can run the tool without us. If you still need us after twelve months, we have not done our job properly.

Frequently asked questions

What we are asked most often

What is Optim-AI?
Optim-AI is a French artificial intelligence consulting and development firm for leaders of SMEs and mid-sized companies. The firm offers three separate services: a diagnostic to decide whether the topic deserves a budget, an audit of the actual situation with a costed countermeasures plan, and custom projects to build the selected tools.
Who is Optim-AI for?
For leaders of SMEs and mid-sized companies, as well as executive and business-line management in large companies, who want to understand what AI changes for their business before committing a budget. No technical skills are required to work with us.
Do you need to be using AI already to work with Optim-AI?
No. AI is often already present without anyone having decided it: in France, nearly one employee in two who uses generative AI at work has not told their manager (Ifop for Talan, March 2025). The audit starts from that reality, whether it is acknowledged or not.
How much does an audit cost?
The amount depends on the size of the company and on what already exists, so we do not publish prices. It is given to you in writing, as a fixed fee and never on a time-and-materials basis, after the first conversation and before any commitment. The quote for a project is drawn up free of charge from the plan produced by the audit.
How long does an engagement last?
The full audit starts at 9 days of work, depending on headcount, spread over three months at most, countermeasures plan included. The diagnostic takes two days, with findings presented within two weeks. Custom projects depend on the agreed scope and are quoted separately; you are under no obligation to go ahead with them.
Will my data go to OpenAI or Google?
Only if you decide it should, and never without the question having been asked explicitly. The target architecture separates what stays within your information system from what can be entrusted to a third party. Solutions hosted in Europe or on your own servers are always assessed.
